Jaythan Newby is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations. Previous experience includes an internship with the United States State Department, focusing on the collection of information regarding African American diplomats during the early 20th century (1900–1930s). The Research Assistant position at RISE appealed to Newby as an opportunity to expand skillsets and contribute to supporting struggling communities through public policy. Newby aspires to work for the State Department as a Foreign Service Officer following graduation.
