Jaelyn Evelyn is an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Research Institute for Social Equity (RISE) at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he is pursuing a degree in Human and Organizational Development with minors in Statistics, Psychology, and Human Resource Management. His academic and research interests center on organizational behavior, workplace dynamics, equity, and change management. Committed to bridging rigorous quantitative and qualitative methodologies, Jaelyn focuses on producing evidence-based research that drives measurable social impact and institutional progress.
Beyond his research responsibilities, Jaelyn brings a diverse foundation of discipline, technical skill, and civic leadership. He holds two black belts in Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do, earned at ages 11 and 16, and is a nationally certified pharmacy technician with three years of professional retail experience. On campus and in the community, he serves as the Parliamentarian for the Delta Upsilon Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and trains as a cadet within the Army ROTC Spider Battalion.
Jaelyn is also a member of the prestigious McNair Scholars Program at VCU, which prepares high-achieving undergraduates for doctoral study. Looking ahead, he plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Business with a concentration in Organizational Behavior or a Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, aspiring to leverage advanced organizational research to advance equity, effective management, and community development.
