Anushri Ramesh

Anushri Ramesh is a freshman pursuing a biomedical engineering degree at Virginia Commonwealth University. She joined the Research Institute of Social Equity to focus on how sports impact rates of social mobility. In April 2026, she presented a research poster on how schools can promote opportunities for social mobility through sports at the National Conference of Undergraduate Research.

Along with sports equity, she is interested in simultaneously exploring how the lack of access to disease prevention disproportionately affects underserved communities and their potential for upward mobility.

In her free time, Anushri volunteers at the Sacred Heart Center, working with Spanish-speaking families who are learning English. This has inspired her to begin her own Spanish learning journey.
