Sean McCandless, PhD, works as an equity consultant, specializing in assessment methods, data communication, legal compliance, and equity analysis (both quantitative and qualitative). He is the associate director of the Doctorate in Public Administration at the University of Illinois Springfield. His research focuses on how accountability for social equity is achieved, or how public services become fairer in terms of access, processes, quality, and outcomes. With Dr. Mary E. Guy, he is co-editor of the book Achieving Social Equity: From Problems to Solutions, and with Dr. S.T. Gooden and Dr. R.G. Johnson III, he is co-founder of the Journal of Social Equity and Public Administration.
